The Elk Mountains in the Southern Rockies are comprised of some of the best skiing terrain in Southern Colorado. People from all over the country and the world come to Aspen to enjoy their cat skiing. As a resort municipality, Aspen is accustomed to playing host to millions of tourists each year.

With its more than 105 inches of snow per year, Aspen is a major draw for people who want to indulge in extreme outdoor sports like cat skiing. Few people venture out on their own in the area’s mountain ranges. Instead, they take part in guided tours that take them to the best backcountry terrain in the area where they can run thousands of feet of verticals across open bowls, treed slopes, cliffs, and cornices.

Skiers can expect an early 8:15 am start time. Daily rates average $519.00 per skier, but if you rent a full cat of 12 people for $5,388, rates are as low as $449.00.
